Sferic Experiment

A short-lived experimental noise combo from Dunedin, New Zealand, led by singer/guitarist Gavin Shaw and guitarist Greg Cairns, Sferic Test lasted long plenty of to record one cassette, 1988’s Bunny Liver organ, around the influential regional indie label Xpressway. In 1996, the San Francisco-based experimental music label Drunken Seafood released Eight Kilometers, a Compact disc compiling the Bunny Liver organ cassette with previously unreleased live materials and outtakes. A 7″ EP, Hi-Fi-Sci-Fi, was also released around once. Greg Cairns created the somewhat better-known Ruler Loser, while Gavin Shaw began a solo task known as the Children’s Tv Workshop.
