Severin

Before fronting the Capitol Town Dusters, Alec Bourgeois held the mic for Severin, an early-’90s D.C. indie rock-band that featured Grey Matter guitarist Tag Haggerty. Bourgeois founded Superbad Information, which co-released three Severin singles with Dischord Information. The band’s textured, stressed audio got some Western Coast recording about the same for Sub Pop. One full-length, Acidity to Ashes, Dirt to Rust, made an appearance on Dischord. The music group, presumably called afer Steve Severin of Siouxsie as well as the Banshees, split up in 1993. Drummer Alex Daniels reunited along with his aged bandmates from Swiz to create Sweetbelly Freakdown, and bassist Eugene Bogan shifted to Rummy and Birdshot.
