Sery Simplice

Simplice learned acoustic guitar as a kid, moving to Abidjan in 1966. He became a member of up with Pierre Amedee, and both tried to mix rumba music with folklore. Later on, in the middle-’70s, he and Ernesto Djedje produced the ziglibithy design, which was among the 1st natively created Ivorian idioms with an influence. In 1977, Simplice shaped his own music group, Les Freres Djatys, and attempted fusions predicated on the gbegbe dance tempo, third , vein for almost all the others of his profession.
