When Ryan Beatty was only a mere teen, he began composing songs to straighten out his personal, religious tips. By graduation, Beatty was prepping for university lifestyle at Grove Town University in Pittsburgh and acquired a guitar at hand. He produced his debut at South by Southwest in 2001 and World Rock and roll Recordings was therefore impressed, they provided him a offer. This amazed Beatty, but he proceeded to go with it. He and friend Jesse Sprinkle (drums) tinkered around a studio room in upstate NY, developing what would become Serene. Matt Green (electric guitar) and Erik Gust (bass) helped in documenting while Sydney Rentz added vocals. By 2002, Serene was filled with Beatty, Gust, Sprinkle, and Green; their self-titled debut album made an appearance in July.
