Seeland

Birmingham, England’s electronic pop group Seeland may trace the origins of their lineup and audio back again to that city’s “vintage futurist” scene from the late ’90s and early 2000s: Tim Felton was an associate of Broadcast, even though Mike “Billy” Bainbridge played in Plone. While Seeland are as influenced from the BBC Radiophonic Workshop and Joe Meek as the pair’s earlier bands had been, this task also nods to ’80s synth pop and ’60s psychedelia. Felton and Bainbridge became a member of causes as Seeland in 2004, posting vocal, acoustic guitar, and electronics responsibilities, and released their first solitary, Wander/Pherox, in 2005 on Stereolab’s label, Duophonic. An EP, Crimson, adopted in 2006, as well as the track “Torch” appeared around the Static Caravan compilation Binary Opposition in 2007. After Felton and Bainbridge added bassist Neil McAuley to Seeland’s rates, the band relocated to Lo imprint LOAF, which released the solitary Library/Contact the Incredible past due in 2008. The group’s 1st full-length, Tomorrow Today, made an appearance in springtime 2009.
