Scott Litt

Best known because the longtime manufacturer of R.E.M., Scott Litt started his career through the past due ’70s, anatomist recordings from Ian Hunter and Carly Simon. His creation debut was the dB’s’ 1982 work Repercussion, implemented a year afterwards by Chris Stamey’s It’s an excellent Life. Litt after that returned to anatomist duties for quite some time, heading back to creating in 1986 with Matthew Sweet’s Inside and Defeat Rodeo’s Home within the Heart from the Defeat. His breakthrough task was R.E.M.’s 1987 business smash Document; over night, Litt was being among the most sought-after manufacturers in every of alternative rock and roll, and his dance credit card quickly loaded with albums through the Woodentops (Wooden Feet Cops on the road), Reckless Sleepers (Big Employer Noises) and, especially, Patti Smith (her return effort Imagine Lifestyle). Concurrently, Litt done records through the Indigo Women (their eponymous 1989 debut), the Substitutes (their 1990 swan tune All Shook Down), Juliana Hatfield (1993’s Become EVERYTHING YOU Are), and Nirvana (1994’s posthumous MTV Unplugged in NY).
