Formed with the husband-and-wife group of guitarist/vocalist Steve Kennedy and bassist Kim Oberly, Sciflyer was the merchandise of many years of encounter over the indie rock and roll scene. Kennedy began as an associate of Delaware college-rockers the Houseplants, where time he fulfilled and wedded Oberly in 1994; once the Houseplants disbanded after liberating a 7″ solitary, he briefly became a member of Large Karate as bassist in 1996. Then shifted to Washington, D.C., and founded Crimson Circus Records along with his friend Expenses Holt, but came back to Delaware and shaped another band 1st referred to as Menthol, after that Nitrous (or, occasionally, the Menthol-Nitrous Fiasco). Oberly was the bass participant with this group, and in 1997, once the band split up after documenting only one demonstration, the couple shifted to Alameda, CA. Following a yr of auditions for additional rings, Kennedy and Oberly made a decision to form their very own clothing, and recruited drummer Laurens “Larry” Campos. Campos acquired played with many minor rings in L.A., and was also highlighted as a kid actor within a 1978 TV-movie known as Devil Pup: Hound from Hell. Sketching from ’80s university rock and roll and ’90s shoegazer rings, the group released its self-titled debut record in 2001.
