Scatman Patin & the Ram Rods

Scatman Patin was tenor saxophonist in the Riff Raffs, a Lafayette, LA group that played New Orleans-styled rock and roll and R&B in the past due 1950s and early 1960s. Many of the music artists in the group documented as solo performers for the Ram memory label, including Patin, vocalist Bobby Page, vocalist/pianist Roy Perkins, and saxophonist Harry Simoneaux. Patin’s only Ram memory solitary was 1958’s “Ginning”/”Crimson Beans & Grain,” that have been standard New Orleans rock and roll instrumentals, with Patin going for a great squealing solo close to the end of “Crimson Beans & Grain.” For the discharge the group was renamed the Ram memory Rods, as well as the solitary billed to Scatman Patin as well as the Ram memory Rods. Both edges of the solitary show up on the Ace compilation Roy Perkins, which includes materials by Perkins, Web page, Patin, and Simoneaux.
