In the beginning a one-off project involving the majority of Seefeel plus Mark Van Hoen (aka Locust), Scala steadily took around the feel of a significant operation using the apparent dissolution of Seefeel during 1997. First, the group included vocalist Sarah Peacock, percussionist Justin Fletcher, and bassist Daren Seymour of Seefeel with Vehicle Hoen within the producer’s seat. Scala released an EP along with a full-length recording during 1996-1997 while Tag Clifford — Seefeel’s nominal frontman and the only real member not mixed up in new task — done his personal Disjecta project. Even more indebted to sound and trip-hop compared to the looped sound-wash Seefeel have been known for, the quartet also centered on a relatively tighter song framework and emphasized Peacock’s vocals. In early 1996, Scala released the Lip area & Heaven EP, adopted the next 12 months from the debut full-length Beauty Nowhere, on Britain’s Contact Information. Though Seefeel experienced released their third record Ch-Vox in past due 1996, it had been their last. Scala came back with two extra albums, released nearly concurrently in 1998: FOR YOU in Alpha and Compass Center.
