Saving Abel

Shaped in 2004 by vocalist Jared Weeks and guitarist Jason Null, Keeping Abel combine riff-heavy hard rock and roll with sexually billed lyrics and Southern rock and roll affects. The quintet got main in Corinth, MS, where Weeks and Null cut their tooth in different rings before merging their songwriting skills. In early 2005, the duo fascinated attention from maker Skidd Mills, who asked Weeks and Null to record in his Memphis studio room. Juggling day careers and local gigs, both began driving backwards and forwards between Corinth and Memphis, sporadically documenting their self-titled EP with Mills while piecing together a complete lineup comprising guitarist Scott Bartlett, bassist Eric Taylor, and drummer Blake Dixon. In just a calendar year, the EP acquired earned Keeping Abel a agreement with Virgin Information, and Mills came back to create the group’s full-length debut. Merging new material using the EP’s greatest music, the self-titled record was released in March 2008. It proceeded to go gold in just a calendar year, with the business lead single “Addicted” breaking the very best 40 and almost topping the present day rock graphs.
