Savas Pascalidis

b. 1970, Stuttgart, Germany. Pascalidis creates a genre-transcending music around equidistant between techno and disco. Motivated by his dad, a Greek disk jockey, aswell as disco and early 80s music, Pascalidis started playing dance pieces in 1985. Five years afterwards he instigated his house town’s first every week techno celebrations. In 1995, he started recording his personal noises (having been trained the fundamentals of digital music producing by Megahertz’ Goran Besoy), liberating some well received EPs and 12-in . singles: ‘The Power Of Music’ and ‘Masterblaster’ via Affie Yussuf’s 909 Pervertions label, ‘Helter Skelter’ via Loriz Seems, and ‘Sugarland Express’, ‘Cosmic Dancer’ and ‘Sexomatic’ via Kurbel. In 1999, Pascalidis founded his personal label Lasergun (consequently releasing paths by Drinking water Lilly, Mr. Lovelace, Sneak Thief, Neon Guy while others), the sci-fi theme which was to become echoed in the name of his 2003 debut for DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolos imprint, Galactic Gigolo. Relating to its inventor, Galactic Gigolo was meant as an idea album that ‘the primary idea was to create tracks to get a techno technology fiction film’. The discharge appeared to explicitly attract influence through the incidental music from technology fiction movies aswell as early 80s video game music, techno and disco. Pascalidis recognized a surprising impact with a cover edition of ‘Like ENABLES YOU TO Crazy’ from No No, the Mike Batt -penned musical creation set in a period zone when like continues to be abolished and be seen as a disease to become prevented. Pascalidis’ ‘Program 605’ drew its name through the same musical. Much less unusually, Pascalidis protected a Visage monitor warning from the hazards of smoking cigarettes (‘Tar’) while ‘She Blinded Me With Sciene’, drew its name (albeit via the subtraction of the notice ‘c’ from its last term) through the Thomas Dolby electro pop monitor it sampled. Pascalidis in addition has finished remixes for Agoria, Richard Bartz, Intimate Harrassment, Membership MCM, Binge And Purge, and Drinking water Lilly.
