Sausage

Sausage may be the first lineup from the California Bay Region group Primus. Like Primus, the group can be led by bassist/vocalist Les Claypool, however his playing doesn’t dominate the music group like it will in Primus. Rather, its even more of a collective, with guitarist Todd Huth and drummer Jay Street providing a good groove, not really fractured rhythms. Huth, Street, and Claypool shaped Primus in the past due ’80s, liberating a demonstration tape known as Sausage. Claypool continued to be with Primus while Street wound up within the hip-hop/jazz collective Alphabet Soup as well as the jazz group, the Charlie Hunter Trio; Huth joined up with Porch. In 1994, the group reunited beneath the name Sausage, liberating Riddles Are Abound Tonight, and continued a brief tour.
