A product from the fertile Louisville, Kentucky music picture which also launched Palace, Slint, Rodan and all their many aspect projects and offshoots, the neo-honky tonk unit Satchel’s Pawn Store shaped in 1995. Called honoring football great Satchel Paige, the group contains vocalist/guitarist Dave Porter, guitarist Dave Nofsinger, metal guitarist Ian Thomas, bassist Willie McLean and drummer Glen Howerton; Still left Dog Magic, Satchel’s Pawn Shop’s debut record, was released independently Out to Pasture label in 1997.
