Sandy Brown

Clarinet, bandleader. Another self-taught Western player, Brown’s likes and style developed from purely traditional to mainstream and jazz-rock during the period of his profession. He led a normal jazz and golf swing music group in Scotland within the middle-’40s. Dark brown relocated to London in 1954, where he performed occasionally with English music artists Humphrey Littleton, Ken Colyer and Chris Barber. He documented frequently as a innovator from 1949 – 1973, and in addition utilized his trumpeter Al Fairweather’s name being a head on some schedules within the ’50s and early ’60s.
