Sam Price

A jazz, boogie-woogie, leap blues pianist, and bandleader, Sam (Sammy) Cost was created Samuel Blythe Cost in Honey Grove, Tx on Oct 6, 1908. Early in his executing career he proved helpful being a vocalist and dancer in a variety of Dallas club locations, but his great and versatile piano playing shortly opened other doorways for him. In 1938 he was employed being a piano program guy by Decca Information and he caused performers like Trixie Smith and Sister Rosetta Tharpe during his stay there, in addition to tracking edges for the label along with his very own band, the Tx Bluesicians, including Don Stovall and Emmett Berry. He also acquired a decade-long musical association with Henry “Crimson” Allen. Afterwards in lifestyle he excelled being a nightclub entertainer at locations in the brand new York and Boston areas, and continued to be active being a musician until his loss of life in Harlem on Apr 14, 1992 at age 83.
