Although his name might seem dangerous, Sam Outlaw is not a self-styled traditionalist tipping his hat to Waylon Jennings. He’s a slyly delicate Americana vocalist/songwriter who pulls upon a deep well of nation music influences, experiencing Western golf swing but also the cosmic American music that’s endemic to his house base of LA, California. Given birth to Sam Morgan on July 28, 1982 in Aberdeen, South Dakota, the vocalist/songwriter relocated to Southern California when he was 10.
