Salt of the Earth

The Detroit-based contemporary gospel group Sodium of the planet earth includes a whopping nine singers, and even though they’re nominally led by Gloster Williams, any member is — by style — perfectly with the capacity of performing being a featured soloist. The harmonious coexistence of most that talent can be an important section of why is the group motivating, not forgetting musically potent. Sodium of the planet earth debuted for the Southern label Malaco in 1990 with HE’LL Deliver, and documented urban-flavored gospel pretty steadily through the entire decade. A set of albums for Intersound, Purchase My Measures and I’LL, made an appearance in 1995 and 1996, respectively. The group have scored its biggest achievement however with 1998’s Content Hour, which included the hip-hop-flavored gospel radio strike “PERSONALLY I THINK a Praise Comin’ On.”
