Sakala Brothers

The music from the Sakala Brothers has turned into a staple of Zambian television and radio ads. Their repertoire contains such music as the “Angoni Theme Tune” and “Puteni Ichimwela,” a bittersweet tribute towards the Zambian nationwide team. The Sakala Brothers participated within a multinational concert on the Lukesha Playhouse Movie theater, along with Zambian musician Brian Zanji, Zambian vocal group Amashiwi, and United kingdom music artists Nathan Thompson and Sarah Robins. The display, which opened up a week-long Zambia-United Kingdom Co-operation celebration, was documented and released on Compact disc under the name ODI in 1999. Along with Keith Mutale and St. Michael, the Sakala Brothers received a Ngome prize from Africa Alive! simply because “one of the most socially mindful musician in the fight Helps” in Dec 2000.
