The breadth of clarinetist Sabine Meyer’s repertoire is matched by her dedication to collaborations with other, equally skilled music artists. She received her 1st music lessons from her dad, clarinetist Karl Meyer, and went on to review with Otto Hermann in Stuttgart and Hans Deinzer in Hannover. She was 16 when she produced her professional debut. She became a member of Munich’s Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra for a while, after that in 1982, Herbert von Karajan produced something of a global mix by appointing her as single clarinetist for the Berlin Philharmonic, heading contrary to the orchestra’s custom of not really admitting female music artists. However, she just remained using the orchestra for any year, because the demand grew on her behalf to execute as soloist with additional orchestras and chamber ensembles. Furthermore to presenting performed with an increase of than 80 professional orchestras in Germany and her regular performances throughout Europe, THE UNITED STATES, and Japan, her function has used her to Brazil, Africa, Israel, and Australia. Meyer’s chamber music companions have got included Barbara Hendricks, Gidon Kremer, Tabea Zimmermann, Heinrich Schiff, Oleg Maisenberg, Lars Vogt, the Vienna String Sextet; the Hagen, Cleveland, and Alban Berg quartets; as well as the Tokyo String Quartet, with whom she toured in 2001-2002. In 1983 she shaped the Clarone Trio with her sibling, Wolfgang Meyer, and her hubby, Reiner Wehle, and in 1988 the Bläserensemble Sabine Meyer. Using the Trio, she’s documented with jazz clarinetists Eddie Daniels and Michael Riessler. Meyer’s recordings got garnered six ECHO honours through the Deutsche Phonoakademie by 2003, probably the most for just about any one traditional artist at that time. Her recordings consist of a lot of the regular concerto, single, and chamber music repertory for clarinet, but she’s proved helpful assiduously with modern composers to provide new works aswell. The award-winning record Modern Functions for Wind Outfit features functions by Denisov, Hosokawa, Castiglioni, Obst, and Raskatov, and she’s also premiered parts by Harald Genzmer, Marc-André Dalbavie, and Manfred Trojahn. In 1993 Meyer was appointed teacher on the Lübeck Academy of Music. She makes a particular focus on solid specialized training on her behalf students to assist their shade quality. What short amount of time she has still left in the end her performing, documenting, and teaching engagements she spends with her hubby and two kids in Lübeck, where she also boosts horses.
