Through the Bay Area, Saafir first appeared on Casual’s Fear Itself, Digital Underground’s The Body-Hat Syndrome, as well as the Menace II Society soundtrack. Having a offer from Qwest Information, the rapper recruited the Hobo Junction creation group (J Groove, J.Z., Rational, Big Nasal area, and Poke Marshall) for his freestyle debut, Boxcar Classes (1994). He made an appearance in the film Menace II Culture and documented an record (Trigonometry) beneath the alias Mr. No No before coming back as Saafir in 1999 for The Strike List.
