Composer and manufacturer Ryan Truesdell can be an musician who all often specializes in large-ensemble jazz parts. Truesdell received his master’s level in jazz structure from the brand new Britain Conservatory, where he examined with trombonist Bob Brookmeyer and composer Lee Hyla. After graduating, Truesdell constructed parts for such performers as trumpeter Ingrid Jensen and pianist Frank Kimbrough. Being a manufacturer, Truesdell spent some time working carefully with pianist Maria Schneider, with whom he’s also the principal copyist. In 2012, Truesdell created the record Centennial: Newly Uncovered Functions of Gil Evans, which highlighted previously unheard functions by the renowned composer.
