Among the youngest from the so-called Teen Lions, Ryan Kisor initial gained interest when he won the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz’s initial trumpet competition in 1990 in age 17. He previously earlier examined trumpet along with his dad, played with an area music group when he was ten, and began studying traditional music 2 yrs later. Kisor uncovered jazz at 14 and created quickly, playing both jazz and traditional music locally. In the summertime of 1988, he was motivated at a jazz camp by Clark Terry. After earning the Monk competition, he was agreed upon by Columbia, developing several interesting if somewhat premature CDs being a leader. After that, Ryan Kisor (whose originality is rolling out gradually) provides freelanced around NY, most notably using the Mingus Big Music group as well as the Lincoln Middle Jazz Orchestra.
