Rusty York was created Might 24, 1935, in Harlan Region, KY. A 1951 concert appearance by Earl Scruggs & the Foggy Hill Boys influenced the currently musically interested York, who, after shifting to Cincinnati, bought a five-string banjo and started to play out.
