Biography

Russell Braun became among North America’s most promising youthful baritones within the 1990s. The child of baritone Victor Braun, he was created and elevated in Frankfurt, Germany. He relocated to Canada and continuing his education, and it is a graduate from the Opera Department of the University or college of Toronto. In 1994, he received a respected Canadian competition, the George London Honor. He has equivalent desire for operatic and music recital overall performance. He offers sung at many main opera houses, like the Metropolitan Opera, the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Opera de Monte Carlo as well as the Canadian Opera Organization in Toronto. In 1997, he debuted in the Opéra de Paris within the name part of Debussy’s Pélleas et Mélisande within an acclaimed Robert Wilson creation, repeated with great achievement within the Salzburg Event. He offers sung in concert in the Salzburg Event and with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, the Dallas Symphony, with New York’s Lincoln Middle Great Performers Series. He regularly appears on main recital phases. He appears using the CBC, and his shows have already been released on CBC Information, including Shattered Night time, Shivering Celebrities, a prize-winning collection of music by composer Alexina Louie, which he sang her Obsessions (WITHIN THEIR Own Terms). He in addition has appeared within the U.S. label Dorian Information in Handel’s Apollo e Dafne. He’s wedded to pianist Carolyn Maude. They reside in the Toronto region with their kids.
