Run the Jewels

A one-off task that quickly evolved right into a hip-hop superduo, Work the Jewels feature rappers El-P and Killer Mike. Produced after El-P created Killer Mike’s 2012 record, R.A.P. Music, the duo released Run the Jewels in 2013, an record acknowledged to Killer Mike and El-P and released on Fool’s Silver. Critically well-known and with a big fan base on top of that, Operate the Jewels quickly advanced into a heading concern when their sophomore work, RTJ2, arrived in 2014. A crowdfunded remix edition of the record with all the current music changed by examples of cats premiered in 2015 as Meow the Jewels. It highlighted guest performances from Portishead’s Geoff Barrow, Dan the Automator, and Internet feeling Lil Bub. The group finished the year using the one “Rubble Kings (Dynamite on the road),” released with the Adult Swim label. In 2016, the duo announced RTJ3, that was established for discharge in early 2017. Nevertheless, on Xmas Eve 2016, they unexpectedly published the record as another download free. Featuring performances by Joi, Trina, Boot styles, Danny Dark brown, Tunde Adebimpe, Kamasi Washington, as well as the come back of Zack de la Rocha, RTJ3 debuted in the Billboard Best 40 with number eight in the R&B/hip-hop chart.
