Rudy Cipolla

Italian-born mandolinist Rudy Cipolla plays continentally motivated folk and bluegrass that encompasses American, Western, and Eastern elements. The San Fransisco citizen has earned prominent close friends in bluegrass circles, including David Grisman, who made an appearance on two of Cipolla’s finest functions, 1997’s Portrait of the American First and 1999’s Mandolin Maestro. Cipolla also befriended Bob Bruen, which led to a longtime cooperation and his intro to Grisman.
