Rudolf Komorous

Since his immigration to Canada in 1969, Komorous has already established a decisive influence on young composers in the country’s west coast. He examined structure with Pavel Borkovec in Prague through the 1950s, also excelling being a bassoon participant. His playing gained him first award on the Concours International d’Exécution Musicale in Geneva, Switzerland, in 1957. During 1959 – 1961 he trained chamber music and bassoon at Beijing’s Central Conservatory in China.
