Rudolf Firkusny

Firkušný studied both piano and structure with Janacek; from 1920 to 1927, on the Brno Conservatory with Ruzena Kurzová; with the Prague Conservatory with Vilém Kurz and Rudolf Karel. From 1929-1930, he also examined structure with Suk. Firkušný produced his debut in Prague in 1922 and pursued a dynamic profession in Eastern European countries until 1933, when he 1st played in Britain, and 1938, when he produced his USA debut. His compositions add a piano concerto, premiered in 1930, a string quartet, and different piano items and tracks. After his American debut, Firkušný founded an international profession like a pianist, later on teaching at Juilliard as well as the Aspen College of Music. Although most widely known for the typical nineteenth hundred years repertory, Firkušný was also known for his chamber shows and his championing of both modern and less popular functions. He offered premieres of functions by Menotti, Barber, Ginastera, Hanson, and Martinu, amongst others, and championed the functions of Dvorák and Janacek specifically. Firkušný was mentioned even more for his refinement of design instead of for his virtuosity.
