After graduating from Boston’s Berklee University of Music having a bachelor’s in music and composition and later on achieving a master’s degree, Puerto Rican Rucco García began playing traditional and Latin jazz along with prominent musicians. Gandia also made up scores for films and documentaries before assembling his personal band, known as Radio Pirata, along with guitarist Roberto Torres, percussionist Robert “Bobby” Trinidad, and drummer Nitayno Arayoán González. The group received a Tu Música award in 1995 for Greatest Record and a Silver Momo in 1996 for Greatest Local ROCK-BAND.
