Royal Headache increased from the bleak underground punk scene of European Sydney, Australia in 2008. Partly as a reply towards the gloomy post-punk rings happening during its founding, the group infused its garage area punk core having a hearty dosage of ’60s-influenced AM radio soul-pop. Heading by foreshortened nicknames, the music group contains Shogun on vocals, Joe on bass, Shortty on drums, and Legislation on acoustic guitar. The quartet quickly produced a name for itself on the effectiveness of a self-produced 7″ and started playing locally. In 2011 the music group released its self-titled debut LP on R.We.P. Culture in Australia. The record was made by Mikey Youthful, influential godfather from the Aussie punk picture and full-time person in Eddy Current Suppression Band. Throughout their period apart Joe performed in the music group Bed Wetting Poor Guys and Shogun had taken on guitar responsibilities for the group Low Lifestyle. The music group reconvened to try out some displays, including a tumultuous evening at Sydney’s Royal Opera Home, and began focusing on its second record. Composed of songs which were started around enough time the first record premiered, Royal Headaches added some keyboards from friend Gabrielle De Giorgio, and proved helpful to broaden their sound.
