Royal City

The Toronto-based Royal Town was led by singer/songwriter Aaron Riches, who worked alongside Jim Guthrie, Nathan Lawr, Simon Osborne, and Evan Gordon to generate a rigorous and personal make of rustic indie rock. Royal City’s appear was most very easily lumped along with the Palace and Tunes: Ohia category of keening, country-influenced loners with guitars. The group 1st unveiled their delicate, acoustic-based music with At Hurry Hour the Vehicles, their 2000 discharge over the Toronto-based label Three Gut. A year afterwards, the group’s third record, Little Heart’s Convenience, was co-released by Three Gut and Rough Trade. Whilst in London, Royal Town unknowingly performed their last present in July 2004, because the group split up quickly thereafter. A self-titled, posthumous assortment of unreleased materials was released five years afterwards, effectively marking the finish of Royal City’s reign.
