Roya

A Brooklyn-based music group whose music mixes a punk’s feeling of casual insouciance with an indie rocker’s interest for quality electric guitar jangle, Roya were formed in the summertime of 2014 by vocalist Rahill Jamalifard, formerly from the music group Habibi. After winding up a tour with Habibi, Jamalifard was wanting to work on a fresh task, and she approached guitarist Jay Heiselmann, who acquired used the music group the Grooms. As Jamalifard and Heiselmann started working up music, Rahill was approached by Hamish Kilgour, once an associate of the renowned New Zealand music group the Clean, who wanted to play drums.
