Roy Palmer

b. c.1892, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, d. 22 Dec 1963, Chicago, Illinois, USA. Early in his profession Palmer played acoustic guitar and trumpet but ultimately resolved on trombone. In the first many years of the hundred years he worked mainly in his city. By 1920 he previously shifted to Chicago where he documented with, amongst others, Jelly Move Morton, Johnny Dodds and Jimmy Blythe. In the first 30s he quit full-time music but, based on jazz musician and article writer John Chilton, he continuing to teach in to the 50s.
