Roy Newman & His Boys

b. 12 November 1899, Santa Anna, Tx, USA, d. 23 Feb 1981, Dallas, Tx, USA. There is nothing known today of Newman’s youth or of his teenage years but he was raised to become among the pioneers of traditional western golf swing music. By his mid-twenties, he performed piano, piano accordion and electric guitar and proved helpful as an employee musician at WRR Dallas. In 1926, aside from his studio room duties, he begun to play piano as you half from the Secret Duo, with John Thorvald (electric guitar). In 1931, he performed guitar within a quartet referred to as the Wanderers, where he became connected with guitarist Jim Boyd.
