Produced in 1950 in Toronto, Canada, the Rover Boys had been originally a vocal trio designed following the Four Aces. Initial tenor Larry Amato, second tenor Doug Wells (b. Southampton, Britain) and bass Al Osten relocated to Long Isle, NY, USA in the first 50s and added business lead vocalist Billy Albert (b. Brooklyn, NY USA) towards the group. In 1954 these were uncovered by disk jockey Costs Silbert and authorized to Coral Information without any achievement. They shifted to the ABC -Paramount label in 1956 and lastly strike with ‘Graduation Day time’, a US Best 20 putting, that yr. Further recordings for ABC, RCA and United Performers failed to come back the group to the very best of the graphs. The Beach Young boys later protected the Rovers’ just hit.
