Round One to Round Five

When Moritz von Oswald and Tag Ernestus weren’t producing experimental techno mainly because Basic Route, minimal dub techno mainly because Maurizio, or experimental dub mainly because Rhythm and Audio, they were probably producing the casual record as Circular One — or Circular Two, Round 3, etc. — which intensifying questioned the differentiation between traditional home and dub, a differentiation that few possess ever drawn. Both of these Berlin performers — with an similarly important part in the techno community as the traveling push behind the important Hard Polish record shops in Germany — collaborated with vocalists Andy Caine and Tikiman for the five 10″ information with this series. Each record would feature the vocal edition accompanied by an instrumental dub edition on the other hand. What started as straight-up home, with I’m Your Sibling in 1994, ultimately evolved into pretty straight-up dub, with Na Fe Toss It in 1999. The duo released a Compact disc that compiled each one of these paths, chronicling the rather startling change from home to dub.
