Rosie Gaines

Rosie Gaines made her initial appearance within the country wide limelight like a charter person in Prince’s New Power Era, contributing heavily to his Gemstones and Pearls recording. But Gaines was a well-known spirit vocalist in her hometown of Oakland a long time before Prince brought her nationwide recognition, and experienced always imagined doing her personal solo task. It finally materialized with 1995’s Nearer Than Close, an recording which range from torch ballads to funk to some cover of Bob Marley’s “Cement Jungles” and which displays Gaines’ social awareness and Buddhist spirituality.
