The theory for Roommate, the alter ego/group of Colorado Springs indigenous Kent Lambert, came into being in 2000, after Lambert, a graduate from the University of Iowa who was simply working in NEW YORK in the acquisitions department of the film distribution company, began writing small songs that his Brooklyn roommate and college friend Noah Minnick suggested he record. After going to a film premiere that starred River Phoenix’s sister, Summer season, and seeing people from the Phoenix family members personally, Lambert had written the music “RP (Your investment Metaphors)” and noticed he had plenty of fame-themed material to create an EP. He self-released Celebs in August 2001 beneath the name Roommate, soon before shifting to Chicago. Though Lambert didn’t spend enough time advertising his materials, a duplicate of Celebs produced its way towards the Studio room Brussel radio display Duyster, where it received essential compliment. In 2004, Lambert, who’s also an experimental filmmaker, converted Roommate right into a live music group and started touring the Midwest. The Chicago-based Refreshing Produce Information reissued Celebs in 2006, the same yr that Lambert and business released the full-length recording Songs the Pets Taught Us on Plug Study.
