Rolo Tomassi

Named following the fictional figure in Curtis Hanson’s L.A. Confidential, Rolo Tomassi’s uncompromising audio includes an eclectic mixture of math-hardcore, acid-jazz, and intensifying punk. Affected by U.S. metallers Converge, prog rockers Ruler Crimson, and jazz saxophonist John Coltrane, business lead vocalist Eva Spence, her sibling, keyboardist Wayne Spence, guitarist Joe Nicholson, bassist Joseph Thorpe, and drummer Edward Dutton created the music group in Sheffield in 2005. A normal fixture on the local rock and roll circuit, they released numerous self-funded EPs through indie label Holy Roar before putting your signature on to Hassle Information in 2008. In the same yr, they performed at Download Event, backed Gallows and Throats on the U.K. trips, and released their debut recording, Hysterics. This year 2010, they documented their follow-up, Cosmology, with M.We.A. maker Diplo, collaborated with Biffy Clyro for any performance on Route 4, and released a compilation, Eternal Youngsters, offering 36 previously unreleased songs.
