Rolf Kühn

Rolf Kuhn’s design has evolved over time. The clarinetist began playing in German dance rings in the past due ’40s. He caused radio orchestras beginning in 1952 and relocated to the U.S. in 1956. Kuhn subbed for Benny Goodman on several events during 1957-1958, performed within the Tommy Dorsey ghost music group (1958), and worked well inside a big music group led by Urbie Green (1958-1960). In 1962, Kuhn came back to Germany, where he offers explored more exciting varieties of jazz (including times with his more youthful sibling, keyboardist Joachim Kuhn) but nonetheless occasionally showcases his ties to golf swing. Kuhn documented with an all-star group known as Winner’s Group (1957), Toshiko Akiyoshi (1958), so when a leader beginning in 1953, including a 1956 NY quartet day for Vanguard.
