b. Roger Thornton Dean, 6 Sept 1948, Manchester, Lancashire, Britain. Although established on a technological career, Dean got music lessons and started playing semi-professionally while at college or university. Developing right into a gifted multi-instrumentalist, playing piano, bass and vibraphone, he embarked upon a profession in music and in the first 70s joined up with Graham Collier’s group.
