Rodney Lay

b. Coffeyville, Kansas, USA. Place worked being a disk jockey and vocalist on KGGF Coffeyville, and in the middle-60s, toured with Wanda Jackson. In 1973, he obtained a small performing function in Pat Garrett And Billy A CHILD which starred Kris Kristofferson. Place became musical movie director and head of Roy Clark’s music group. When not dealing with Clark, he fronted his very own band, the Crazy West. Documenting with them, he appreciated six minor strikes through the 80s, including ‘Content Nation Birthday Darling’, and his edition from the 1973 Mel Road strike ‘Walk Softly IN THE Bridges’, but his fondness for rock and roll and rockabilly materials did small to draw in the traditionalists.
