Created Edward W. Robbins, Jr. in Minneapolis, balladeer Rockie Robbins started singing young. Working with famous arranger/makers Richard Evans (Natalie Cole, Peabo Bryson) and Johnny Pate (Curtis Mayfield as well as the Impressions, Lonette McKee, OKeh Information), Robbins produced an extraordinary debut on his self-titled LP, that was released in the springtime of 1979 on A&M Information. The ballad singles “EASILY Ever Lose You” and a cover of EWF’s “Become Ever Amazing” received a whole lot of radio airplay but weren’t big retailers, although “Become Ever Amazing” charted at quantity 67 R&B in past due 1979.
