Rocketship

Sacramento, CA-based indie-pop beloved Rocketship was the brainchild of singer/guitarist Dustin Reske, who formed the group in 1993 with bassist Verna Brock, keyboardist Heidi Barney and drummer Jim Rivas. After launching the classic one “Hey Hey Female” in the important Bus End label, the group documented 1996’s acclaimed A PARTICULAR Smile, A PARTICULAR Sadness for Slumberland; the initial line-up after that dissolved, with Reske carrying on Rocketship essentially being a single task. The “Honey, I WANT You” single implemented in 1997; 2 yrs afterwards, Reske resurfaced using the ambient-influenced twelve-inch Rocketship’s Backyard of Delights.
