Robert Williams

Since drummer Robert Williams has used a wildly diverse selection of functions — Captain Beefheart, Bo Donaldson as well as the Heywoods, as well as the Stranglers’ Hugh Cornwell — it only is practical that his little single result reflects those eclectic tendencies. Williams addresses an array of music on his two single recordings — the 1981 EP Purchase My Record and 1982’s full-length Past due One Night time — by using such guests as Hugh Cornwell, Danny Elfman, the Doorways’ Robby Krieger, Wings’ Laurence Juber, and users of Devo, the Go-Go’s, and Captain Beefheart’s and Frank Zappa’s rings.
