Robert Petway

A well-respected nation blues designer despite his small result, Robert Petway was a blues guitarist who recorded eight edges for Bluebird Information in 1941 and followed those up with eight more in 1942 (which six were issued). Small biographical information is normally on Petway, though it is well known that he resided and performed in Mississippi. The only real surviving picture of him displays him in overalls, keeping a metal-bodied Country wide resonator electric guitar. His melody “Catfish Blues” obtained some notoriety when it had been documented by Muddy Waters, who renamed it “Rollin’ Rock,” offering the motivation years afterwards for the name of the rock-band, the Rolling Rocks.
