Being a priest, both cleric and chaplain, Morton served in the Burgundian courtroom form 1457 until 1476. The just mention of his being British was to get a payment to him for the buy of clothing. It referred to him as an “angle chaplain”. Through the reign of Philip the nice and Charles the Daring Morton offered as an associate from the chapel. Just secular compositions related to Morton are extant. His tracks did not come in any British source and British textures and constructions were difficult to find in the tracks related to Morton. Characteristics that may be ascribed towards the musical stylings of Morton — apart from various borrowings and imitations — are melodic brevity and succinctness, as well as the contratenor component often contained intense intervals of fifths though these fifths do create a semblance of tonality.
