Robert Bateman played an integral part in the first achievement of Motown Information having been an employee producer, a skill scout, and engineer using the label in the first ’60s. He also co-wrote the million-selling “Make sure you Mr. Postman,” Motown’s initial number 1 pop smash. “…Postman” strike number one 2 times performed by two different works. Bateman also co-wrote the traditional ballad “IF YOU WANT Me” with Wilson Pickett and Sonny Sanders. Solomon Burke’s edition parked at number 2 R&B for five weeks and “AT THIS TIME and Not Later on” was documented from the Shangri-Las. The Marvelettes’ “Make sure you Mr. Postman” b/w “SUCH A LONG TIME Baby” went yellow metal, holding the main R&B place for seven weeks and visited number 1 pop on Billboard’s graphs in fall 1961. Bateman also co-wrote its follow-ups, “Twistin’ Postman” and the quantity four R&B strike “Playboy.” Flushed using the achievement of “Make sure you Mr. Postman,” Bateman trekked to NY for find larger opportunities.
