Roaring Jelly

This UK comedy-folk trio comprised Clive Harvey (b. 27 November 1945, Watford, Hertfordshire, Britain; electric guitar, vocals, ukulele, harmonica), Derek Pearce (b. Birmingham, Warwickshire, Britain; vocals, multi-instrumentalist), and Mick Hennessey (b. Derby, Derbyshire, Britain; acoustic and electrical bass, vocals). Harvey fulfilled Pearce in 1970 at Trent Polytechnic, Nottingham, where they performed the faculty folk golf club and won an area talent competition. This resulted in folk golf club gigs in the Derby/Nottingham region. Hennessey became a member of the line-up immediately after. The group required their name from a popular Irish jig. Despite the fact that their take action was leaving folk and progressively towards humor, the group continuing playing folk night clubs around the midlands. They performed the Sidmouth Folk Event in 1975, which resulted in concerts and times on a nationwide level. The group break up in 1985, while still in the elevation of their recognition. Harvey, along with Ian Carter, created the short-lived Beverley Brothers, after that became a member of R. Cajun AS WELL AS THE Zydeco Brothers in Dec 1985. He also takes on with another trio, the trunk Chair Jivers. Pearce is currently a furniture manufacturer and sculptor. Roaring Jelly re-formed, briefly, in 1986 for any reunion tour entitled Pay The GOVERMENT TAX BILL Tour. Still spoken of with devotion, the group had been regarded as pioneers of option comedy prior to the term became fashionable.
