Riviera

The Chicago quartet Riviera formed in 2000 around vocalist/guitarist Derek Phillips, guitarist/vocalist Mick Radichel, and bassist Matt Usner. Right from the start, the purpose was to strategy the American folk and rock and roll custom from a somewhat skewed angle, relating to their patchwork of affects threads from the bandmembers’ personal adventures and existence encounters. Phillips’ and Radichel’s tracks drew in a different way from country, rock and roll, and blues, but generally ended up striking the listener for the reason that same smooth spot between your gut and the mind. Dealing with a revolving door of drummers and accompanists, the music group began to create a pursuing in the city’s flourishing alt.country picture. By past due 2002, the lineup got solidified using the improvements of drummer Josh Rogers and keyboardist Josh Boisvert, and Riviera joined the studio room to record its debut. The six-song EP Damaged Hearted Dreams decreased in August of the next year; it had been along with a flurry of live times.
